We are proud to be a sponsor of the IPIC2026 Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) Centennial Conference, celebrating 100 years of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the intellectual property community in Canada.
The conference will take place September 16–18 in Ottawa, Ontario, at the iconic Fairmont Château Laurier, the historic site where the Institute was originally created. We are thrilled to sponsor the Welcome Reception, which will open the conference on Wednesday night.
Marks & Clerk will have several team members in attendance at IPIC2026, including former IPIC board member Cat Lovrics, Partner and Head of Trademarks and Copyright (Canada), Jean-Charles Grégoire, Partner and Chair of the IPIC Industrial Design Committee, along with Associates, Alexis Vaughan and Amylee Hu-Fouye.
Additional team members attending the Welcome Reception and social events throughout the conference include Kevin Shipley, Partner and Head of Mechanical and Industrial Processes (Canada), Paul Horbal, Partner and Head of Computer and Electrical (Canada), Amrita Singh, Partner and Co-Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution (Canada), Michael O'Neill, Partner and Nikki Davy, Counsel and Justin Thuss, Associate.
Cat Lovrics will also be an expert speaker for the "Top IP Law Cases of the Century" session, which highlights landmark intellectual property decisions that have shaped the development and evolution of IP law over the past century, and how their legacy continues to shape today’s IP landscape.
IPIC was founded in 1926 to protect and promote intellectual property in Canada, and each year the Annual Conference provides a unique opportunity to bring together leading professionals, thought leaders, and experts to discuss emerging trends, share insights, and shape the future of intellectual property in Canada. Congratulations to IPIC on reaching this remarkable centennial milestone. Marks & Clerk are proud to support this special event and celebrate the continued growth and success of the intellectual property profession.
We look forward to connecting with attendees, participating in meaningful discussions, and celebrating alongside the IPIC community at IPIC2026!
