Glasgow Tech Week: Intellectual Property Strategy Sprint
Marks & Clerk is proud to support Glasgow Tech Week with a practical, hands-on workshop helping start-ups and SMEs identify, protect, and leverage intellectual property to drive growth and attract investment.
Designed for businesses at all stages, the session will combine expert insight with interactive exercises covering patents, trade marks, and IP strategy. Attendees will explore key areas including invention spotting, brand development, and using IP to support commercialisation and investment readiness.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have developed a clear, actionable IP strategy aligned with their business goals. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, offering further opportunities to network with peers and advisers.
The workshop will be delivered by our Scottish patent and trade mark experts: David Murray, Noelle Pearson, Louise Mansion, and Elle Newell, bringing first class experience across IP strategy and protection.
David has significant experience working with clients in capturing their IP, as well as providing strategic advice on how to grow and manage their IP portfolios.

Louise joined Marks & Clerk in 2016 as a Trainee Patent Attorney after having graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a first class masters in Mechanical Engineering.

Noëlle specialises in intellectual property law, with a strong focus in trade mark contentious and non-contentious matters.
Ella is a Registered and Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and Senior Associate in the trade mark team. She joined Marks & Clerk in 2016, qualifying in August 2019 after passing her final exams with commendation.
