Chien Nee is a Registered Malaysian Patent Agent and holds an Honours Degree in Microbiology from Universiti Putra Malaysia.
Chien Nee joined Marks & Clerk in 2026, following more than a decade serving in-house at a leading biotechnology centre pioneering stem cell research in South-East Asia. Her experience encompasses patentability searches, patent drafting and prosecution, and IP portfolio management.
In her patent practice, she focuses on innovations in biotechnology as well as broader life sciences. She has managed subject matters such as emerging microbial technologies, nutraceuticals, environmental bioremediation, industrial bioprotein production, regenerative medicine, immunotherapy and adjunctive cellular-based therapies.
She started her career as a microbiologist in a local clinical and diagnostic laboratory, before entering the IP industry in 2010.
Fluent in English and Malay, Chien Nee can also speak basic Cantonese and Hokkien.
