Joining Marks & Clerk in 2021 as a Clients and Markets Assistant, Rebecca quickly established herself as a valuable member of the Marketing & Business Development team, responsible for business development activities across the Scotland Offices and the Energy & Environment Team.
After gaining an in-depth understanding of the intellectual property industry, Rebecca was promoted to Digital Marketing & Communications Executive where she now drives the firm's internal and external communications strategy.
Working closely with the Corporate Communications Manager, Rebecca develops compelling content for campaigns, press releases, social media, and marketing materials. Her role includes managing relationships with key journalists and publications, overseeing the firm's digital presence across LinkedIn, Instagram and the company website, and collaborating with the firm's media and communications agency to identify opportunities that raise Marks & Clerk's profile in key markets.
In her current position, Rebecca also works closely with the firm’s Digital Manager, playing a critical role in enhancing the firm's digital strategy, improving SEO performance, and ensuring brand consistency across all channels.
Prior to joining the firm, Rebecca built a strong foundation in retail and hospitality management, including working in North Carolina, USA, and Melbourne, Australia. Upon returning to Scotland, she completed a master’s degree in marketing at Glasgow Caledonian University, receiving a distinction, and awards for best student and best master’s research project. Her research focused on consumer behaviour influence, and the use of ‘Dark Patterns’ as persuasive technology in UX design, demonstrating her expertise in digital user experience.
