Matthias is a Chartered (UK) and European Patent Attorney based in the Oxford office. He specialises in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications relating to artificial intelligence and quantum technologies, covering both core algorithms and applied technical systems.

Before entering the patent profession, Matthias developed a strong technical foundation through academic research and commercial R&D roles. His experience includes work on quantum networks as a Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellow in Singapore, and leading hardware development for super‑resolution microscopy systems in industry.

Matthias holds a Diploma in Physics from the University of Stuttgart and a PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge, specialising in trapped‑ion quantum technologies. His technical background supports clients seeking robust patent protection for advanced and emerging technologies.
