Elliot graduated from Imperial College London in 2011 with an MSci in Chemistry with Molecular Physics. He then studied for a PhD at the University of Sheffield, focusing on porous materials for gas storage applications.

Following his PhD, Elliot conducted postdoctoral research at both the University of Sheffield and the University of Liverpool, using X-ray diffraction techniques to determine the atomic structure of new functional metal-organic materials.

Elliot joined the Manchester office of Marks and Clerk in 2019 as a Trainee Patent Attorney.
