Chris Tevlin is a Principal based in Manchester and a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney with more than 15 years’ experience. His practice focuses on patent drafting and prosecution, alongside advising on validity and infringement matters. He has represented clients before the European Patent Office at both first instance and appeal, providing clear, practical guidance throughout the process.
Chris has broad technical experience across physics and engineering, including optical imaging systems (with a particular focus on photolithography), turbomachinery, automotive components, fire alarm systems, fluid dynamics, inkless printing systems, automated robotic systems, medical devices and night vision apparatus. His experience across these areas enables him to support clients in identifying and protecting commercially valuable innovations.
In addition to his patent work, Chris is a qualified trade mark attorney and advises on a range of design matters, offering joined up intellectual property support where required.
Chris holds a first class MPhys degree in Physics from the University of Oxford, where he was awarded the John Thresher Prize, and a PhD in Particle Physics from the University of Manchester for his work on Top quark phenomenology at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. He is also a UPC Representative.
