Wai Han graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) with an honours degree in Applied Biology with Biotechnology. During her studies at the PolyU, she was involved in a microbial toxin research project, studying the methods of neurotoxin extraction and purification from puffer fish.
Prior to joining Marks & Clerk in 2019, Wai Han worked at another intellectual property firm in Singapore where she was involved in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications for a range of clients. Before entering the patent profession, Wai Han worked as a microscopy specialist at a research institute in Singapore where she assisted research projects in areas including optical microscopy, cellular mechanics and image processing.
Wai Han completed the Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law (GCIP) in 2016, obtaining a Merit, and is currently training to become a registered patent attorney in Singapore.
