Robbie is a Chartered (UK) and European Patent Attorney based in our Aberdeen office. He advises clients across a broad range of technologies, with particular experience in engineering, the energy sector, and medical technology

He works closely with inventors to identify new innovations, draft patent applications, and develop robust IP portfolios. Robbie also has extensive experience in contentious matters across medical technology, automotive, and other sectors. He regularly handles oppositions and appeals before the European Patent Office and has supported teams in Unified Patent Court proceedings. His broader practice includes advising on freedom to operate, infringement, validity, and aligning IP strategy with commercial objectives.

Robbie graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 2017 with a first class master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his studies, he was named one of the top ten electrical and mechanical engineering students in the UK as part of the Undergraduate of the Year Awards and completed projects in shale gas extraction and additive manufacturing
