Syazrina started her intellectual property career in 2014 and worked with several eminent IP and law firms in Malaysia before joining Marks & Clerk in 2021. She has substantial experience in handling patent matters for local and international clients, including providing advice on the patentability of inventions, conducting patentability searches, drafting patent specifications, prosecuting patent applications and maintaining clients’ IP portfolios. She also has considerable experience in handling industrial design matters.
Syazrina holds a degree in Electronics Engineering, with a major in Multimedia, and a Masters in Engineering Science (by Research) specialising in 3D video processing, both from Multimedia University, Malaysia. She has also presented and published several research papers on 3D image and video processing at IEEE conferences and is a registered member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM).
Syazrina has attended various IP courses and seminars both locally and abroad including the FICPI South East Asian Patent Drafting (SEAD) Course and the Japan Patent Attorneys Association (JPAA) IP Practitioner Seminar.
She is fluent in English and Malay.
