Karan joined Marks & Clerk in 2023 and is a Part-Qualified Patent Attorney based in the London office. He works within the patents practice and focusses on chemical technologies.
Karan has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in key jurisdictions relating to battery technology, display devices, pharmaceuticals, polymer chemistry, and various types of compositions. He has a particular interest in sustainable chemistry, and is part of a team of attorneys responsible for monitoring and analysing the evolving case law of the Unified Patent Court.
Karan holds a First Class MChem in Chemistry from the University of Oxford. During his studies, he specialised in synthetic organic chemistry and conducted his Master's research in the field of hydrogen borrowing catalysis.
