Joshua Howdle is a Trainee Patent Attorney in the Cambridge office of Marks & Clerk. He joined the firm in 2024 and is a member of the Software & Electronics teams, working with clients ranging from local start-ups and spinouts to large multinational organisations.
Joshua works on the prosecution of patent applications and provides patent-related advice across a range of technologies. His work includes supporting clients seeking protection in multiple jurisdictions and assisting with international patent prosecution strategies.
He has experience working with technologies including heat exchange systems, grid technologies, blockchain, medical devices and telecommunications and networking devices. His broad engineering background enables him to understand and communicate complex technical concepts clearly when supporting clients with their intellectual property requirements.
Joshua graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2023 with a BA (Hons) in Chemical Engineering. Prior to specialising in chemical engineering, he studied a broad range of engineering disciplines, providing a multidisciplinary technical foundation.
