Hui Min Tay is a Trainee Patent Attorney based in the Cambridge office. She has a broad research background across multiple areas of chemistry and is an author of over 20 academic publications. Hui Min completed her DPhil in Chemistry at the University of Oxford in 2024 under the supervision of Professor Paul Beer, where her research focused on supramolecular host–guest chemistry. She subsequently worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate with Professors Hagan Bayley and Yujia Qing, specialising in protein engineering of biological nanopores.
Prior to this, she obtained a first class BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Melbourne. Her final year research on chiral coordination polymers was carried out under the supervision of Professor Brendan Abrahams, Dr Carol Hua and 2025 Nobel Laureate Professor Richard Robson.
Hui Min’s technical background in chemistry and chemical biology supports her work in patents, enabling her to understand complex scientific developments and provide clear, practical input during the patent drafting and prosecution process.
