Overview & Experience

Emily Ellis is a Senior Associate and Patent Attorney based in Marks & Clerk's London office. She is a Chartered Patent Attorney (UK) and European Patent Attorney, with an MSci in Chemistry with Industrial Experience from the University of Bristol (2018).

Emily has experience in patent prosecution before the European Patent Office and patent offices worldwide. She coordinates filing and prosecution strategies for global patent families, helping clients manage and protect patent portfolios across multiple jurisdictions.

Her practice includes preparing for and attending oral proceedings before the EPO, particularly in opposition matters. She also undertakes patent drafting and freedom to operate work, providing clear, practical guidance on patent protection and risk assessment.

Emily has particular experience in technologies relating to pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, polymers, organic fine chemicals, chemical processes, food ingredients, energy storage and display devices.
