Edwin is a registered Canadian Patent Agent with particular expertise in the prosecution of biotechnology and chemical patents. Prior to joining Marks & Clerk, Edwin gained several years of experience articling and working as an associate at another Canadian intellectual property law firm.
Edwin graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.Sc. (Honours) specializing in Biochemistry, and majoring in Physics and Biology. During his undergraduate studies he gained practical research experience in a molecular biology laboratory working on CFTR, the gene responsible for causing cystic fibrosis. He subsequently obtained his law degree, also from the University of Toronto, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002.
In his spare time, Edwin participates in several sports and leisure activities including ultimate frisbee, badminton, skating, and chess. He also enjoys playing popular, jazz, and classical music on the piano.
