Caitlin Morris is a UK and European Patent Attorney in the Software and Electronics team at Marks & Clerk. She is primarily based in Manchester and previously worked in the Cambridge office, supporting a diverse client base ranging from start-ups and SMEs to multinational companies and research institutions. She is recognised for her ability to grasp complex inventions and quickly understand new technical concepts.

Her work focuses on the preparation and prosecution of international and national patent applications. She also advises on freedom to operate assessments and IP due diligence, and has delivered IP audits in collaboration with Innovate UK Business Growth, helping clients take a structured and strategic approach to managing their intellectual property.

Caitlin has experience across a range of technologies, including semiconductor devices, sensors, optics, medical devices, microfluidics, additive manufacturing, display technology, and computer software. Her technical breadth enables her to support clients working at the interface of hardware and software innovation.

She holds an MSci in Physics from Imperial College London, where she specialised in plasma physics and studied modules including computational neuroscience, general relativity, information theory, and hydrodynamics. Her research involved designing hardware and optical diagnostic systems and applying computational analysis to study shocks in high energy density plasma.
