The 148th International Trade Mark Association (INTA) Annual Meeting took place in London from 2 to 6 May 2026. The event brought together over 10,000 IP professionals, corporate representatives, government and organisation officials, and industry experts from more than 100 countries and regions.
Nearly 40 attendees from Marks & Clerk participated in the Annual Meeting, representing multiple offices across the United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, Greater China (Beijing, Hong Kong), Asia‑Pacific (Singapore, Malaysia), as well as local client support specialists based in the United States, Japan and South Korea.
On the evening of 2 May, Marks & Clerk hosted a reception in Central London, welcoming over 300 clients and partners from around the world.
The Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office hosted the "Beijing Intellectual Property" exhibition booth during this year's INTA Annual Meeting under the theme "Beijing Services, Shared by the World". The booth featured four sections: thematic presentations, a business networking and Q&A zone, a zone for time‑honoured brands, geographical indications and traditional Chinese culture experience, and a media service zone (IPR Daily). It brought together nearly 20 Beijing‑based IP service providers and enterprises, presenting Beijing's IP ecosystem and service capabilities to global attendees through a combination of professional exchanges and cultural displays. Marks & Clerk was invited to participate, and Xuefang Huang, Partner of the Beijing office, together with colleagues from the Canada and Malaysia offices, received visiting clients and attendees at the booth.
On 3 May, Samuel Stone, former UK IP Attaché to China, visited the "Beijing Intellectual Property" booth and exchanged views with Xuefang Huang and other colleagues at the exhibition area. Mr. Stone has recently taken up a new role as Deputy Director of the Europe, Trade and Multilateral Team in the International Directorate at the UK Intellectual Property Office (UK IPO). During his tenure, he and his team provided support to many UK companies in enforcing their IP rights in China. In August 2025, Mr. Stone and his team also visited Marks & Clerk's Beijing office.
On 5 May, Xuefang Huang delivered a thematic presentation at the "Beijing Intellectual Property" exhibition area. The presentation introduced Marks & Clerk's global IP service capabilities, including the firm's newly launched services in artificial intelligence, cyber security and data protection in the UK and Europe, and also examined the definition, types, causes, official enforcement measures, available remedies for rights holders, and typical cases of bad-faith trade marks under the Chinese legal framework.
During the Annual Meeting, two China-related annual rankings were released. On 2 May, MOZLEN, a trade mark data platform, released the 2026 MOZLEN500 (International Edition) – a ranking of foreign-related trade mark service providers in China. Marks & Clerk's Beijing office was listed among the Top 100. On 4 May, the “2026 Statistical Ranking of the Top 40 Foreign-related Trade Mark Service Providers in China”, jointly compiled under the guidance of the China Trade Mark Association (CTA) by China Trade Mark magazine and IP House (a Chinese provider of intellectual property legal data), was also released in London. Marks & Clerk's Beijing office was once again named in this ranking.
As a global IP professional service provider with a history of nearly 140 years, Marks & Clerk leverages its office network spanning major economies worldwide to deliver cross-border IP protection services to clients, while continuously engaging in industry exchanges to promote practical improvements and institutional refinement.
