Marks & Clerk are proud to be represented by Esther Ford at this Cambridge Wireless event, discussing the evolution - and future inoovation - of 'smart' devices.

Over the last few years the smartphone form factor hasn’t changed much except for some minor enhancements like larger screen sizes that are much more sharper, foldable devices, cameras with more megapixels, bigger battery, more connectivity options, etc.

The research community has been exploring radical enhancements like unvoiced speech communications, smell detection, taste transmissions, etc., but they have a long way to go before becoming a reality. Even simpler enhancements like wireless charging hasn’t gained the popularity that was once touted.

In this half-day seminar we will explore hardware enhancements, new sensors, evolution of sensing capability, software enhancements that will be able to drive the existing hardware to deliver even better performance, and examine form factor enhancements that can drive an increase in productivity.
