Navigating the CRISPR IP landscape

This intellectual property webinar event will hear three guest speakers on the fascinating and evolving topic of CRISPR: Professor Andrew Baker, Dr Gareth Williams, and Sue Bruce.

This IP webinar will start with Sue providing a short introductory update on how Edinburgh Innovations provide support to researchers in the protection of IP and in the commercialisation of new technologies.

Gareth will then provide an overview on: who holds the key CRISPR IP; when you might need a licence; when to consider applying for a licence; what to do with your own IP; what might be protectable; how to use it to add value.

Andy will then share his recent experience of IP commercialisation from an academic perspective. How his research group are using CRISPR technology to progress research towards developing a therapeutic treatment for vein graft failure associated with cardiovascular disease.

This event will be of interest to all University academics and students interested in understanding and navigating the complex world of CRISPR.
