Overview & Expertise

Tobias Eriksson is an Associate in Marks & Clerk’s Birmingham office. His practice covers all aspects of patent work, including drafting, prosecution before the UK Intellectual Property Office and European Patent Office (EPO), and the management of international patent portfolios.

He has particular experience in telecommunications technologies, including standard essential patents, as well as semiconductor fabrication processes, oil and gas technologies, and carbon capture and decarbonisation. His experience in these areas enables him to provide clear, strategic guidance on protecting complex innovations while aligning patent strategies with clients’ commercial objectives.

Tobias works with a broad range of clients, including multinational organisations, start-ups and individual inventors. He regularly coordinates multi-jurisdictional prosecution, working closely with overseas counsel to deliver consistent and effective protection across key markets.

Tobias joined Marks & Clerk as a trainee in 2016 and qualifyed as a Chartered (UK) and European Patent Attorney. He holds an MPhys and a PhD in Physics from the University of Warwick, where his research focused on air coupled ultrasound transducers.
