Martin is a Singapore Registered Patent Attorney and has been in practice since 2003.
Martin holds a BEng in Electrical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. Prior to joining Marks & Clerk in 2025, he worked in the Singapore office of an international law firm with a leading tech and IP practice and with other leading intellectual property firms in Singapore.
Martin has prosecuted and drafted patent applications for a range of clients including research institutions, multinational corporations, local clients and individuals. He has drafted in fields including fintech, electronics, semiconductors, computer software (including AI), blockchain, telecommunication, robotics, casino kiosks and gaming software. Since joining Marks & Clerk, he has been exposed to more cases with AI driven software platforms.
Martin is a ranked individual in the 2023 and 2024 IAM Patent 1000 rankings, with the 2023 edition stating he is “adept at drafting patent specifications for both individual and institutional inventors”. He is also on the examination committee that sets the examination papers to qualify as a Singapore patent attorney.
