Overview & Expertise

Kyle Arndt is a Senior Associate in Marks & Clerk’s Glasgow office and a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney and UPC Representative. He joined the firm in 2012 and has extensive experience in patent practice, including drafting, prosecution before the UK and European Patent Office, portfolio management, and freedom to operate reviews.

He advises clients on all aspects of patent protection, from initial filing through to enforcement and the strategic management of third-party IP risks. He also advises on registered and unregistered design rights in the UK and Europe, and has experience in EPO opposition and appeal proceedings.

Kyle has worked across a broad range of technical fields, including automotive, agritech, aerospace, defence, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, medical devices, oil and gas, optical technologies, semiconductors, telecommunications and water management. His experience in these areas helps clients protect valuable R&D outputs and navigate complex IP landscapes across diverse technologies.

He works with clients ranging from start-ups and SMEs to multinational organisations and research institutions, supporting the development of patent portfolios aligned with long-term R&D and commercial objectives. Kyle holds a Masters degree in Physics from the University of Glasgow and previously worked at BAE Systems, where he was involved in the development and delivery of complex engineering systems, including work on submarine design and defence technologies.
