Jess is an Associate and UK Chartered and European Patent Attorney at Marks & Clerk, based in London. She specialises in the biotechnology sector, working with clients to draft and prosecute patent applications across a range of technologies, including immunotherapies (especially antibodies, ADCs, and adoptive cell therapies), vaccines, medical devices, diagnostics, and women’s health innovations supporting applications through examination to grant in the UK, Europe and internationally.
Her work includes managing complex global patent families and advising a diverse client base, from individual inventors and university spin-outs to multinational pharmaceutical companies. This experience enables her to support a wide range of intellectual property needs and align patent strategies with commercial objectives.
She joined Marks & Clerk in 2021 following completion of her PhD in Cell and Molecular Biophysics at King’s College London, where her research focused on a FRET based binding assay, investigating the regulatory function of cardiac myosin binding protein C (cMyBP C) in heart muscle cells. Before her PhD, she completed a BSc (Hons) in Natural Sciences at the University of Bath, which included a year in industry at GlaxoSmithKline.
She became a dual-qualified Chartered (UK) and European Patent Attorney in July 2025.
