Jessica is a Natural Sciences graduate who specialised in pharmacology at the University of Bath. She also spent a year in industry working at GlaxoSmithKline focusing her research around characterising the distribution of compounds (peptides, lipids, and small molecule drug candidates) in pre-clinical to clinical drug development projects by mass spectrometry imaging.
She also achieved a PhD at King’s College London in cell and molecular biophysics, with research focused on developing a novel FRET binding assay to investigate the regulatory function of a protein (cardiac myosin binding protein C, cMyBP-C) in heart muscle cells (cardiomyocytes).
Jessica previously took up a voluntary role in regulatory affairs at Oxford Heartbeat, a healthcare start-up company that is developing a medical device software that supports the planning of neurovascular surgeries involving stent devices.
