Overview & Expertise

Ann is an Associate and Chartered Trade Mark Attorney based in the Birmingham office. She joined Marks & Clerk in October 2022 and qualified in July 2025, achieving Distinctions in both the Professional Certificate in Trade Mark Practice from Nottingham Law School and the Postgraduate Certificate in Trade Mark Law and Practice from Queen Mary, University of London.

She advises on the registration, protection, enforcement and management of UK and overseas trade marks across a range of sectors, including publishing, fashion, and construction and industry. Her work includes supporting clients with contentious matters and negotiations, providing practical guidance on protecting and maintaining brand rights.

Ann’s experience spans both traditional and non-traditional trade mark protection, enabling her to assist clients in securing and enforcing rights across multiple jurisdictions.

She graduated from the University of Nottingham in July 2021 as valedictorian of the LLB Law cohort and has been called to the Bar of England and Wales. Her qualifications include Registered and Chartered Trade Mark Attorney (UK), Professional Certificate in Trade Mark Practice (PCTMP), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Trade Mark Law and Practice.

Client Work & Case Experience

• Consumer products sector - prosecuted a US product configuration trade mark, including reviewing evidence of use and preparing a declaration to support an acquired distinctiveness claim, helping to secure protection for a key brand asset as part of wider anti-counterfeiting efforts
• Media and entertainment sector - supported the successful prosecution of a UK video motion mark by assisting with the preparation of evidence and arguments of acquired distinctiveness
