Overview & Expertise

Yann Robin is a Principal in Marks & Clerk’s Glasgow office and a UK and European Patent Attorney and UPC Representative. He has been with the firm since 2007, following five years of experience in patent-based research in chemistry-related fields.

He advises a broad range of clients, including SMEs, universities and multinational organisations, on all aspects of patent practice. His work includes drafting and prosecution of patent applications, opposition proceedings, and advising on infringement, validity and due diligence matters. He also regularly advises on UK and Community design registrations.

Yann specialises in chemistry and related technologies, including polymers, medical devices, sustainable materials and sportstech. His experience in these areas enables him to provide practical guidance on protecting and managing intellectual property across a range of applications.

He holds a Diplôme d’Ingénieur from the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier and an MPhil in analytical and environmental chemistry from the University of Strathclyde.
