Marks & Clerk LLP will be formally pledging to develop science-based emissions reduction targets through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This transition will ensure our carbon reduction strategy is aligned with the latest climate science and positioned within an internationally recognised corporate social responsibility (CSR) framework.
As a leader in intellectual property (IP), we understand the importance of precise, evidence-based standards including a commitment to:
- Developing near-term emissions reduction targets that encompass our Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions
- These targets will be submitted to the SBTi for formal validation within the mandated timeframe to ensure technical accuracy and accountability
- Marks & Clerk will be publicly listed on the SBTi website as a “Committed” organisation, reflecting our professional dedication to best-practice sustainability principle
We will provide further updates to our clients and stakeholders once our validated targets are published.
About the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
The SBTi is a global corporate climate action organisation that enables financial institutions and companies to contribute meaningfully to combating the climate crisis.By developing robust standards, tools, and guidance, the SBTi allows organisations to set greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets.
These targets are designed to meet the levels necessary to limit global heating and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 at the latest.
