Philip is a qualified Chinese Patent Attorney. His expertise encompasses patent prosecution and analytics, with a focus on mechanical tools, materials science, manufacturing, display and sensing technologies, software, and artificial intelligence.
Prior to joining Marks & Clerk, Philip gained experience working at a leading IP firm, served in an in-house patent role at a major display manufacturer, and held a public-sector position focused on IP management. Throughout these roles, he developed a broad spectrum of patent-related skills beyond prosecution, including patent mining and searches, portfolio management, freedom-to-operate analysis, and patent analytics and landscaping. Philip also actively shares his knowledge through IP training sessions tailored for SMEs and enterprises, demonstrating his commitment to empowering others.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biotechnology and a Master of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Philip is expanding his technical expertise by pursuing a second Master’s degree in Information Technology, further enhancing his insights into software and AI technologies.
