Mark is an Associate based in the Marks & Clerk Cambridge office. He has experience in filing and prosecuting patent applications across a diverse range of chemical technologies, including novel chemical species, compositions, methods, and chemical engineering systems.
Mark studied at Selwyn College, Cambridge and graduated with a first class BA and MSci in Natural Sciences. His studies encompassed the biological and chemical sciences, with an eventual specialisation in chemistry. His final-year research project focused on the application of organic synthesis to the challenge of antimicrobial resistance in bacteria. After graduating, Mark worked as a policy adviser in the Department of Health and Social Care during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mark joined Marks & Clerk in 2021 and qualified as a Chartered (UK) and European Patent Attorney in 2025. He was awarded the Moss, Chris Gibson, and Keith Farwell prizes by the Charted Institute of Patent Attorneys for achieving the highest marks across four of the five UK Foundation Exams.
