Lily joined Marks & Clerk in 2025 as a Trainee Patent Attorney in the Electronics team, based in the Cambridge office. She undertook a PhD in Physics from the University of Strathclyde, where her research focused on novel plasma-based acceleration techniques and their application to x-ray free-electron lasers.
During her doctoral studies, Lily completed a research placement at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in California, gaining hands-on experience in cutting-edge accelerator technologies.
Prior to her PhD, Lily earned a first-class MPhys degree in Physics from the University of Edinburgh, which included a year abroad at the University of Sydney in Australia.
Outside of work, Lily enjoys baking and cultivating houseplants.
