Amylee Hu-Fouye is an intellectual property lawyer based in the Marks & Clerk Toronto office and is a member of the trademarks group.
Amylee’s practice focuses on brand protection, and clearance and prosecution of trademarks. In addition, Amylee advises clients on IP transactional matters, as well as copyright, advertising and marketing law and related regulatory matters.
Amylee has a wealth of experience in brand protection and enforcement, and prior to joining Marks & Clerk, she practiced at an intellectual property (IP) and litigation boutique law firm where she provided strategic advice to a wide range of clients on protecting their IP.
Drawing on her entrepreneurial background in the fashion and media industries, Amylee brings a unique perspective to brand protection and management, across digital and physical settings. She also has experience assisting with matters before various levels of court, tribunals and administrative boards in both British Columbia and Ontario.
Amylee holds both a BA in Information and Media Studies, and a Juris Doctor (JD) from University of British Columbia. During her JD studies at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, she served in several leadership roles, volunteered with two pro-bono legal clinics and was the president of the Allard Law Intellectual Property Club. She is part of the IPIC Emerging Leaders Committee and the Women in IP Networking Group Community, where she helps to plan networking events and mentorship programs.
