Marks & Clerk has recently featured in the press following the launch of our new AI, Cyber Security and Data practice. The expansion, which has been covered by publications including Law News, World IP Review and Managing IP, represents a move to provide broader legal and regulatory support alongside our established IP services.
The new practice is led by Fiona Phillips, who brings experience as a senior in-house counsel at financial institutions such as UBS and HSBC. The group focuses on integrating AI and privacy law expertise with the firm’s existing technical background. As highlighted in the recent coverage, Eleonor Duhs has also joined as a partner to lead the data offering. Eleonor is highly regarded for her work in data law, having previously served as the UK government’s lead lawyer during the GDPR negotiations.
The recent articles note that this development is designed to assist clients in navigating the legal and governance challenges associated with implementing AI and managing data in a developing regulatory landscape. By combining regulatory knowledge with technical insight, the team aims to help organisations manage these emerging technologies with clearer governance and accountability.
