Marks & Clerk strengthens integrated Intellectual Property (IP) offering with appointment of experienced dispute resolution specialist
Marks & Clerk is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick McDonald as Partner. Nick's arrival further strengthens the firm's IP legal capabilities and underscores its longstanding commitment to providing clients with seamless, integrated solutions across all areas of intellectual property.
Nick brings extensive experience in building and leading successful teams within IP firms, with particular expertise in complex, multi-jurisdictional intellectual property disputes. This includes working with a diverse client base, including major pharmaceutical companies, biotech innovators and manufacturing leaders across Europe, the US and Asia.
His experience spans all IP rights, with deep expertise in patent litigation, trade mark enforcement, copyright and design rights disputes, regularly coordinating cross-border disputes for clients both in Europe - often involving the Unified Patent Court - and globally. Beyond contentious work, Nick has significant experience in IP licensing, due diligence, advocacy and mediation.

Nick holds an MA (Hons) in History from the University of Cambridge, a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law from Bristol University, and qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales in 2004. He is a regular speaker at leading IP conferences including INTA, AIPPI, and the Pharma & Biotech Litigation Conference. He holds higher rights in both criminal and civil advocacy, and is a qualified mediator.
