Marks & Clerk is recognised as one of the best intellectual property firms in the world, advising a broad range of clients on how to protect their ground-breaking technologies and innovations. Regularly nominated for awards, we often achieve top rankings in legal directories and surveys. Our trainees also frequently win prizes for achieving the highest marks for their exams.
Our international coverage is extensive with a network of offices across Europe, Asia and North America. With Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys, and working closely with our associated solicitor firm, we provide a comprehensive range of intellectual property services to a variety of clients, from multinational corporations to the latest start-up ventures, in all sectors worldwide.
This provides exciting opportunities to work with a fantastic range of clients and a supportive network of colleagues with a vast range of experience across intellectual property. Our people enjoy excellent remuneration, benchmarked against the IP industry, along with a range of benefits, career development opportunities and social activities.
During August we will be running two insight afternoons for people interested in working in the intellectual property sector. You may be interested in working as a patent attorney, trade mark attorney or in a support function role such as a paralegal, or even in a role in HR, IT or finance etc.
The insight event will include presentations on the IP sector, talks on becoming a patent or trade mark attorney and a talk on support roles. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and network with partners, attorneys, support staff and HR.
You may have just started university or be near the end of your studies - we welcome all levels. We also welcome people working in industry and considering a career change. (The event is for people over the age of 18. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate anyone of school age.)
We have two insight events:
All events will be 12:45 - 16:30. The dress code is smart casual - we are not expecting people to wear a suit or dress if as they were coming for an interview. We will refund local travel on production of a receipt up to a value of c.£20. Please do not book travel until your space has been confirmed.
Requirements
There are limited spaces for the event and spaces will therefore be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Places will be offered to those who are starting out on their journey into IP. Those who attended events last year, or have previously applied for our graduate roles will not be offered a place. Places will also not be offered to those already working in IP.
Please note that attendance does not constitute a job application for any of our roles. The normal application processes will need to be followed.
