Sanjukta is a partner of Mark & Clerk Canada and Marks & Clerk Law LLP where she advises a diverse range of clients on management of intellectual property portfolios, with a focus on trademarks.
She is well-versed all aspects of trademark prosecution process, including providing clearance opinions, conducting oppositions, cancellation and expungement proceedings, and management of international trademark portfolios. Her practice also focuses on enforcement of intellectual property rights, such as trade-mark infringement and copyright infringement matters, and domain name and Internet-related disputes. Sanjukta regularly advises clients on commercial transactions, including licensing agreements, co-existence arrangements and technology contracts.
Sanjukta is a co-author of Hughes on Trade-marks (LexisNexis Butterworths), Trade-marks Act & Commentary (LexisNexis) and the trademarks chapter in Canadian Forms & Precedents (LexisNexis), and has contributed to Halburys’ Laws of Canada (Trademark Chapter). She is also an active member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC), the International Trade-marks Association (INTA) and Marques.
Sanjukta was the recipient of the Bereskin & Parr Prize for Patent Law, the Scotiabank Group Prize for Estates Law, and the Osgoode Hall Award for Upper Year Excellence.
