Dane is a licensed Canadian Patent Agent and Lawyer in Ontario. He actively manages worldwide intellectual property (IP) portfolios, and he routinely prepares, files and prosecutes patent and industrial design applications for his clients. Dane’s practice is focused on mechanical, industrial and structural technologies, with particular emphasis on the energy, aerospace, automotive and consumer goods sectors.
Dane works with clients of diverse sizes. He assists start-ups with filing their first patent applications, and he facilitates multinational corporations with expanding their IP portfolios. Dane is quick to understand new technologies and unique commercial opportunities, and his flexible skillset is ideally suited to securing valuable IP in a complex and evolving landscape.
Dane holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University. Dane is currently the Chair of the Public Awareness Committee for the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
In his recreational time, Dane enjoys going on adventures with his dog, Nyla, and is a casual digital and boardgame player.
