Sebastian Beck-Watt is an intellectual property lawyer and Canadian trademark agent who advises on the acquisition, enforcement, and commercialization of intellectual property in a variety of sectors. Sebastian’s practice areas include trademarks, copyright, marketing and advertising law, and domain name matters, as well as litigation support.
Prior to joining Marks & Clerk, Sebastian clerked at the Federal Court of Canada and articled at a national intellectual property law firm. During law school, Sebastian was actively involved in IP Osgoode, the school’s Intellectual Property Law & Technology Program, and interned at a Canadian media organisation. Previously, Sebastian has worked in the government and in the financial services industry.
Sebastian received a B.A., Honours in History (French Immersion) from the University of Ottawa in 2011 and a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2017. Sebastian is also a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC).
Outside of work, Sebastian enjoys running, playing squash, cooking, and travelling.
