Cynthia specialises in trade mark law and her practice incorporates clearance, prosecution, opposition and cancellation actions, enforcement, and due diligence. With a particular focus on Hong Kong and China, her clients include multi-national corporations from a wide range of industries including fashion retail, food and beverage, electrical goods and chemical manufacturers, as well as a number of leading Asia-based corporations and start-ups.
Cynthia graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the School of Oriental & African Studies, University of London, and subsequently attended the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in London. She completed two years’ articled clerkship with an international firm of solicitors, in which she spent a whole year in its London and Hong Kong Intellectual Property departments. Prior to joining Marks & Clerk, Cynthia spent seven years heading the Trade Marks Group of a global intellectual property firm. She joined the Hong Kong office of Marks & Clerk in 2010 and became a Partner in August 2016.
Cynthia is a council member and Treasurer of the Hong Kong Institute of Trade Mark Practitioners. She has spoken on trade mark portfolio management at conferences in the Asia Pacific region.
