Darren specialises in patent matters relating to computer software. In particular, Darren has considerable experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications relating to artificial intelligence and machine learning. In addition, Darren has experience of patent matters in the fields of image and video processing, speech processing, data analysis, business methods and medical applications.
Darren’s practice involves working with a variety of clients from large multinationals to universities. Darren has a wide experience of patent prosecution in multiple jurisdictions around the world including the UK, Europe and the US.
Darren graduated from the University of Manchester with a first class honours degree in Computer Science. Continuing on at the University of Manchester, Darren was awarded an MPhil for his research in the field of machine learning, more specifically in deep learning with applications to speech and speaker recognition technology. Darren joined Marks & Clerk after graduation in 2014.
