Daniel is experienced in drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications in the chemical and engineering fields. Primarily working for SMEs, he handles applications for technology including locks and security hardware, recycling machinery, renewable energy generation, construction products, medical devices and food technology. Daniel also advises on Registered Design protection both in the UK and in Europe.
Daniel joined Marks & Clerk as a trainee in 2013, having spent 18 months in the profession at a boutique patent and trademark firm in the Midlands. He obtained the Certificate in Intellectual Property from the University of Bournemouth, and passed the WIPO Advanced Course on Patent Information Searching in 2013. He qualified as a Chartered UK Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney in 2016.
Daniel graduated from the University of Bristol in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, where he spent a year teaching science in local secondary schools as part of his undergraduate studies.
