She is experienced in trademarks, copyright, media, advertising and consumer protection issues as well as regulatory and compliance work involving regulatory matters such as product launches, gaming regulations, data protection, and privacy issues. She also provides regulatory advice on the registration of pharmaceuticals, food and chemicals with the relevant authorities in Malaysia.
Her key portfolio is trademark filing and prosecution including trademark clearance searches, trademark opposition proceedings and general advisory work.
Sharmila is fluent in English, Malay and Tamil, and also has some knowledge of Hindi.
