George Lucas

George focuses on biotechnology and software. In biotechnology, his specialisms include antibodies, modified peptides, plant sciences, food technology, and medical devices such as stents. In the software field, George has worked with clients on AI (machine-learning), analysis, and block-chain software. He also has experience in bioinformatics, genetic analysis, and other computational biology techniques.
 
George prosecutes patent applications in many countries, with particular experience in Europe, UK, the US, Canada, and China. George acts for a wide variety of clients ranging from software start-ups to large multinational pharmaceutical companies. He is experienced in drafting new patent applications for biotechnological and software inventions.
 
Prior to joining Marks & Clerk in 2015, George graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2013 with a degree in Biological Natural Sciences. His final year focused on plant genetics, metabolism and pathology. George also completed a Master’s degree in Management of Intellectual Property at Queen Mary University, obtaining the Certificate in IP Law simultaneously.
