Anupama Mavilakandy

Anupama graduated from the University of Glasgow with an MSci in Pharmacology. She completed a year-long industrial placement as an assay biologist with pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) where she was involved in early stage drug discovery. Her research project at GSK was a focussed screening of an orphan G protein-coupled receptor to identify small molecule ligands. Anupama also holds a master’s degree (LLM) in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Melbourne.
Prior to joining Marks & Clerk in early 2018, Anupama’s previous experience includes working as a trainee patent attorney in intellectual property (IP) law firms in Hong Kong, Australia and United Kingdom where she was involved in the prosecution of patent applications in the medicinal chemistry, biochemical and pharmaceutical fields.
Anupama has a technical background in life science but assists in a variety of patent matters, including chemical, biotechnological, pharmaceutical and mechanical inventions.
Anupama is fluent in English and Hindi with a basic understanding of German and Cantonese.
