Trade Marks team success

7 February 2018

Following recent success in the World Trademark Review 1000, Marks & Clerk’s trade marks team has received further accolade, this time from Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) magazine, in its annual “IP Stars” international ranking of trade mark firms.

MIP Magazine undertakes an annual research process, interviewing numerous clients and researching firms globally, to determine the best intellectual property teams.

Marks & Clerk’s trade marks team has been ranked by MIP in Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Benelux, Singapore and the UK for both contentious and prosecution work.

In England & Wales, the team is ranked Tier 1 for prosecution work. In Scotland, the team is ‘Highly Recommended’ in the prosecution category, putting Marks & Clerk in the elite of trade marks teams. Marks & Clerk Solicitors’ trade mark team was also ranked in England & Wales, in the ‘Trade Mark Contentious’ category.

Tom Farrand, Head of Trade Marks at Marks & Clerk said: “This latest set of results reflect the hard work and professionalism of our trade mark team over the last 12 months. The team’s expertise, and focus on strategy and service, means it continues to set the benchmark for quality.

“The fact that we have been recognised in jurisdictions in Europe, Canada and Asia, is also testament to the global mind-set of our team, and our ability to provide global solutions. That our solicitor team was also recognised for its trade mark work further highlights the fact that we are well placed to tackle any trade mark challenge, in any jurisdiction.”
