Marks & Clerk recognised globally by Managing Intellectual Property

6 March 2018

Marks & Clerk, the UK’s leading firm of intellectual property (IP) attorneys has been recognised in jurisdictions around the world in the latest rankings from Managing Intellectual Property (MIP). The latest analysis from MIP sees Marks & Clerk ranked in a total of seven jurisdictions globally in Canada, the EU and Asia.

The firm has been recognised for its patent work in both the prosecution category, which involves developing world wide IP strategies and drafting and registering patents to deliver these strategies, and the contentious category, which involves defending IP against infringements and taking legal action where necessary.

This latest accolade follows a stellar year for the team at Marks & Clerk with the firm having recently been named the UK’s top filer of patent cooperation treaty (PCT) applications, and also the UK and EU’s top filer of trade marks.

In its latest analysis, MIP has ranked Marks & Clerk Tier 1 in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore and Tier 2 in France and the UK. The firm is also highly recommended in both Scotland and Luxembourg.

Commenting on the latest rankings, Maureen Kinsler, International Chairman at Marks & Clerk, said: “The latest analysis from Managing Intellectual Property highlights the fact that Marks & Clerk is one of the world’s truly global IP firms. Our international outlook reflects the reality of modern business, which is global in nature and requires thinking on a global scale.

“IP is a central asset for any business and our well established teams in Canada, Asia and Europe mean we are well placed to serve our clients as they protect and exploit IP in any jurisdiction. The recognition from MIP also reflects the hard work of our teams in offices from Canada to Hong Kong, and the collegiate ethos that underpins our business.”
